Why Choose Individual Psychotherapy?
Perhaps you generally feel okay but aspire to personal and professional growth. You might find yourself trapped in repetitive thought and behaviour patterns that hinder your relationships and prevent you from achieving your life goals. There might be unresolved trauma affecting both you and your relationships. Regardless of your starting point, I am here to meet you as a competent and empathetic partner, ready to help you recognize and process whatever holds you back.
How Does It Work?
No matter how weighty, complex, or stagnant your issues may seem, I approach them with calmness, kindness, and complete openness. I ask curious questions about your emotions, thoughts, physical reactions, interests, relationships, and work-life to gain a comprehensive understanding of your resources and assist you in tackling your problems piece by piece.
During our sessions, I often utilize a whiteboard to jot down keywords, allowing us to maintain an overview and collectively work through challenging aspects while focusing on problem-solving. I may also employ metaphors and models to provide new perspectives and help you explore possible solutions.
My approach is primarily based on emotion-focused therapy (EFT) and systemic therapy. This means I am attentive to attachment, bodily impulses, and the various contexts in which you navigate. Additionally, I incorporate elements from cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and knowledge of nervous system regulation. Positive change is most effectively achieved when the brain, body, and emotions work together harmoniously, and I will support you in this process at your own pace.
